He smiled softly watching Chris dive before he did so himself. He maintained precise strokes and remembered to breathe at various points, aiming and focusing upon their destination point. He loved sports. It always had presented the challenges he normally liked to face, and swimming was something he took to but didn't do very often. Not many opportunities in Devon and he was usually too busy with the maintenance and upkeep of the farm.

It was a close race but chris beat him out just a tad thanks to his long legs. He looked at him with a smirk. They began to climb the rock, his wet curls sticking to his fae. He looked at him. "So you never answered my question...is it all relatives, or you got a wife and/or kids too?" he asked curiously. "Sorry if I'm prying, just curious" he said. He put his hand in his hair and slicked it back out of his face as the sun kissed his skin.

He frowned slightly, noting he hadn't one. Perhaps he was out of touch today. No matter, he told himself as he hauled himself up on the stony surface of the rock, water trickling down his frame/ He sat down after a moment, using a moment to get his breath back properly. "Hm? No... it's okay," he replied softly, "Just me I'm afraid," he grinned a little, scratching absently at where his two collarbones met. He had thought of having a family, even to the point of having a girlfriend... they hadn't worked out. Perhaps it was partially his fault... he always questioned whether it was the right time in his life.

He looked at him "Oh, soryr I was so nosy...just curious" he said to her. He looked at him with a smile. He climbed a little higher before standing up on the rock. He shouted as he jumped in. He came back up to the surface and brushed his hair back. "Come on go ahead and jump!" he said waving at Cliff. He wanted to lighten the mood.
All of a sudden Chris felt something tug at his ankle. He looked down but saw nothing. As he lifted his head to look up he felt a forceful pull at his body as he began to be pulled beloww the surface and into the darker depths of the ocean. He struggled to get away and kicked and pulled, but it had been useless...whatever had him was strong.

He smiled and shook his head with soft amusement, he had not minded Chris being nosy... just as long as he wasn't going to probe too far. He moved slightly, watching the other male as he jumped back in to the water. He smiled at the sight Chris provided before he chuckled in response to Chris's call. He was about to say something in return Chris suddenly seemed to be having trouble. He watched closely for a minute before realising with a start that something else was to fault here.
Without a second thought, he dove in and swam towards the writhing and sinking mass of Chris. He wasn't sure what had Chris but Cliff wasn't going to let the man die if he could help it. Exerting some stronger and more precise strokes, he reached Chris and tried to get a strong hold of him. If only Chris would stop struggling so much. He couldn't exactly say or he'd run out of vital air. He tried to see what it was that was pulling the other down.

(sorry ive been having comp. troubles try to post more often think the problem is fixed)
He was starting to feel his breath being cut short. He couldn't get out of the grip at the thing pulling his leg. His body ebgan to go limp and he began to black out. He knew this could be the end, and there was nothing he could do to stop it. He was unconcious by the time cliff was near him.

He felt Chris go limp and scowled as he tried to get him free from whatever it was that held him. He kicked harder, hugging Chris closer to his chest. His chest was beginning to feel tight against the pressure being placed due to the shortness of oxygen. His mind was starting to feel a little little as he struggled to free Chris from the grip. His hands moved to try and free the man manually.
[[That's ok. I understand. Welcome back]]

Whatever that had been holding on to him seemed to spot Chris wasn't alone and released his leg. The pressure pushed the two of them towards the surface. He was unconcious still and blackness surrounded him. He couldn't pull himself, least not without assistance, he wasn't sure what was going on, he wasn't even thinking, his mind turned off from the lack of oxygen.

Feeling the upward thrust, Cliff kicked upwards, hugging Chris closely to his chest. They broke the surface and Cliffo gladly renewed his air supply before checking where the shore was and aimed for it without hesitating. He just hoped Chris was still with him as he pulled him towards the sandy bank. Water stuck to his hair and beard as he progressed past the rock they had raced to and towards the one Cliff had found Chris standing next to before.
Cliff could feel his muscles and bones beginning to tire and protest against the work but he pressed on. He was not going to abandon Chris just because he was starting to tire. Cliff was certainly not one of those people. He placed effort into everything he applied himself to. It was not too long before he scrabbled both of them up the bank.
He didn't waste time over doing what was necessary, and forced air into the man's lungs to force the water out, pinching his nose gently. He did the process a few times, desperately hoping Chris would respond. "Come on..." he breathed breathlessly

(so sorry for the late reply xP)
Chris' body floated as dead weight next to cliff. His mind was a dark abyss through most of it...that is, until he began to feel this pulling sensation. Someone was trying to pull him out of the darkness. He saw glimpses of light and his stimach jumped each time. FInally after one hard pull he felt jhimself gag and cough up water. He looked down feeling his wet body covered insand. Above it stood Cliff and Crhis turned beet read.
He looked atround getting his bearings and sighed "Oh gosh...what what happened?"

[[That's okay]]
As soon as he felt the man stir and cough up the water, he turned the man on his side so the water wouldn't travel back to his lungs. He made sure he was done before he let Chris move by himself. He forced his own breathing of fear that Chris wouldn't come round to go away...
"You dived... something grab you and kept you under... " he replied, looking at Chris with concern. THe sun was still out and now the rays were drying the both of them off.

Chris looked up at Crhis confused and concerned "nuts...what?" he asked. He looked at him and nodded "Thanks...for saving me" he said. He began to stand up and got a little dizzy. The rays of the sun felt nice but were also very dizzying. He looked around waiting for his vision to un blurr.

He watched the other carefully, rising when he did ready to catch him just in case. He was personally looking forward to something to eat and then sleep. "No worries... take it easy, okay?" he said softly with genuine concern.

He watched Chris for a moment before deciding he would follow and make sure the guy was okay. he picked up his discarded shirt along the way before rubbing most of the water from his har and beard. He reached where Chris was and sat on his haunches within earshot, "Will you be okay?" he asked, genuinely concerned.
