A sigh escaped her lips as she watched the waves roll out and in, out and in. Shannon rolled her eyes to herself as she heard the other survivors rallying up people for a search for food. There was bound to be people to rescue them sooner or later, so why did it matter? She was not about to go out into the woods with no protection, grabbing some wild boar for food. That was ludicrous! Besides, was wild boar really part of the diet she had been on to try and lose those ten pounds? No, she didn’t think so.
It was funny how people were acting after the crash, building up camp and gathering around. Did they expect her to pretend like they were going to be stuck there forever, like that show her father always watched; Gilligan’s Island or whatever. Yeah, as if that were going to be the case. Okay, Skipper!
Getting tired of watching the waves she let herself fall back into the sand, lying down and closing her eyes. Perhaps she could go looking for her suitcase, get out a bathing suit and do some tanning. Why not take advantage of this island and get some sun? Maybe one of her rescuers would appreciate her knowing that they were coming for her? And maybe one would even be cute enough to work her charm on. A little tan wouldn’t hurt, right? No, it could only help.
Maybe Boone was around somewhere and she could go fetch him to go help her look for her suitcase. Of course, he'd probably end up doing all the work if he did agree. Shannon was just that cruel. And lazy. And well, spoiled. He’d probably offer her some of that chocolate again to keep her from being hungry. As if she needed to have a bite full of calories to put those pounds back on! They were going to be rescued soon, for goodness sake.
It was only a matter of time before they were going to be rescued.
One could only hope.

Goodwin was walking back to the main signal fire. He tossed a couple of branches into the fire, making sure the fire would burn well so the rest of his people knew exactly where they were. Its not like they could count on Karl for a specific location.
He looked around the camp. There were 48 survivors on the plane, and he already had a few names. There was the doctor, Jack, Kate, John Locke, Hugo and a few others he had remembered. He noticed a blonde woman across the beach lying on the sand. She was talking to the guy earlier and he overheard she was waiting for the rescue boat until she ate. She would be waiting a while then.
He stood up and walked over. This list needed to be completed in three days, so he was to get started. He noticed the way she was, she wasn't helping the main camp with anything and was just sitting on the beach. She was either upset.. or sunbathing.
"Hey" he said. "You haven't seen anyone with any sunscreen have you?"

"Hey. You haven't seen anyone with any sunscreen have you?"
Slightly startled at the sudden voice, her eyes shot open and glanced around to find the source. She pushed herself up with her elbows as she spotted the man above her, tilting her head towards him. What a strange question to be asked at such a time... Or perhaps it wasn't. At least he hadn't asked her for a helping hand with gathering some wood for the fire or anything.
In any case, he had interrupted her peaceful wait for the rescue crew. She wasn't about to have a cheery conversation with the fellow. This was Shannon after all.
"Nope, I haven't. Sorry. I'll keep my eyes open for you. If I do, you'll be the first one I notify about it."
As she said this she had closed her eyes and let herself fall back onto the sand. What a pleasant young lady she was, wasn't she?

'Well, she clearly wasn't upset about anything' he thought to himself. "I'm Goodwin by the way." Goodwin said, sitting beside her and extending his arm to shake hands.

"I'm Goodwin by the way."
Her lips curled into a small smile as she heard him introduce himself. What kind of name was Goodwin? It was almost as strange as "Boone". Not everyone could have a decent, normal name, she guessed. As she felt him sit beside her she sighed. If her eyes had been open, she would have rolled them.
"Goodwin, huh?" She opened her eyes and pushed herself with her elbows again. She glanced back at the waves, not bothering to look at him. "And what do people call you for short?" Honestly, what kind of nickname could you get out of 'Goodwin'? "Good"? Yeah, now that's a name.
After everything that had happened in the past couple of days, she didn't exactly feel like small talk. But now that he was sitting there with her, she didn't want to be that rude. Of course, she had just ignored his offer of shaking hands and introducing each other...

Goodwin chuckled to himself and took his hand back. "I don't know, most people have never tried to shorten it. Its just been 'Goodwin'" he replied.

Shannon nodded her head as if she had understood, and cared, about what he was saying. She leaned her head back to the side to look at him, squinting her eyes a bit because of the bright rays of the sun beating down upon them.
"Alright, Goodwin," she stated, putting the emphasis on his name as if it were foreign to her lips. "So, why is finding some sunscreen your top priority at the moment, anyway?" It was strange to her. Out of everything that everyone was looking for, sunscreen seemed to be the most odd. As she spoke the wind had blown strands of her blonde hair into her face, though she didn't seem to mind, or care for that matter.

"I kind of burn up pretty quickly, and it doesn't look like its gonna rain soon." Goodwin replied
