Kate's heart leapt as the charred remains of the front of the plane appeared before her. It was a sorry sight. Broken trees mingled with broken bones and shattered metal, it was gruesome to say the least. The gravity of their situation began to fully sink in, weighing down her shoulders and her spirit, but she put on a brave face as the men around her took in the same sights as she. Kate's hands rested on her hips and she tilted her head in question at Jack, eager to find what they had come for, the transceiver.
" Where should we look first, I mean do you know where we might find the transceiver?" she asked softly, keeping to herself the louder question echoing in her mind over and over.... what if we don't find it? Her spine straightened and she fended off a case of the shivers. Though she had no desire to go home and face the punishment for her crimes that she knew she deserved, she didn't want to remain here either. The crash, the screams, the strange noises and even the people, well, it didn't seem like the happiest place to live out your days. In fact, without clean water and cooperation for food, not to mention the thing ripping up trees, their days were numbered, Kate felt it. Without another word, she had to move, she couldn't wait. She paced a little and then headed closer to the cockpit, she'd find the transceiver as fast even if she had no idea what it looked like.

Jack watched as Kate headed towards the cockpit before he could even answer her question. He called out after her, "It will be in a compartment near the pilot, and should look like a giant walkie talkie, almost." He began to follow after her, the soft dirt crunching under his shoes as the birds sang out their tune of hope. Was it hope? For sure? Jack felt it was, and he reached the front of the airplane just as Kate did, pushing past her a little bit in his own unspoken way of protecting her. It was a gruesome sight, of that there was no doubt. Dead bodies already decaying and rotting under the hot island sun, magnified by the metal carcass in which they had become entrapped. This section of the plane had landed nearly vertically, which made getting to the pilot a very difficult climb.
Jack pushed on, stopping briefly to hold back his mango breakfast at one pont when he felt his foot cae in to something wet and slick. He found the door finally and unlatched it, looking back on his progress for the first time before looking inside, hoping that the rest of the group was with him.

Charlie couldn't stop staring at the dead bodies and broken metal around them. It made him feel grateful for being able to live through the crash. The rotten smell was strong which caused Charlie to make a disgusted face. "Great" He blurted out when Jack told them that the transceiver was going to be near the pilot. The plane landed nearly straight up, so it was going to be hard to get up there. "How are we going to get there?" His eyes studied the plane up and down. If someone were to fall, it would be a long way down.
Taking a deep calm breath, Charlie made his way behind Jack. "Hope there's no wild animal in there" He teased with short chuckle but found that the joke wasn't all that funny if it were true. At least he tried to lighten up the mood so the group wouldn't be so serious.
