Charlie grinned before replying, "Ooh, clever" He nodded slightly and noticed her accent for the first time. He figured she must've been from Australia. It was nice having someone from a different country. There weren't many Australians back in England.
"But of course, you would feel bad for leaving your buddy behind so you'd come and rescue me....right?" Charlie said with the cheesy grin of his. At times Skinner seemed distracted, he just thought the conversation about King Kong was just boring her. He didn't want to be left alone, so he decided to change the topic up and see what was going on.
"So, what was your life like? Before all this" Charlie asked waving his hand carelessly to the side. Hopefully she wouldn't get offended or anything by his nosiness.

Skinner laughed at his goofy grin, shaking her head, but watching him. She sighed, nodding slowly. "I guess I'd have to. i'd feel bad sine I actually have a consience you know," she said. "Go figure." She grinned, tracing her finger in the dirt, but froze at his question. She didn't want to seem like a freak or anything, but that was a personal question for her. She looked over at him, chewing the inside of her lip.
"It was not interesting," she said simply, hoping that might appease him.

Charlie grinned with a short laugh following afterwards. "Of course you would, no one would dare double cross Charlie" He replied with a smirk. Suddenly, he noticed that Skinner seemed uncomfortable at his question. He was afraid something like this was going to happen, but luckily she didn't get upset or anything. Charlie didn't exactly want to talk about his own life either. It wasn't something to be proud of.
"Same here" Charlie told her, thinking frantically of something else to talk about. He bit his lower lip gently in thought. "So...what's one thing you really want right now?" He asked her with a grin. It was a silly question but at least it was a different topic.

Skinner smiled a bit, happy that he passed over her answer to his question quickly. Perhaps he himself knew what it was like to not wish to talk about past. Perhaps he knew what it was like to be embarrassed over things that you let happen, things that you'd done, and consequences that must be paid.
"One thing I really want..." she repeated softly. A warm bed. A phone jack. Her parents. Her brother and sister. "Ice cream." She grinned, chuckling softly. It was true. "Dreamsicle ice cream."

Charlie was relieved that Skinner didn't ask him about his past either. At least there was something they both had in common and understood. Although, he was still a bit curious as to why she kept her past secretive. For all he knew, she could be a crazy murderer out on the loose. He felt a small chuckle wanted to be released from that thought, but he kept quiet.
"Ice cream?" He blurted out to himself while narrowing his brows. He was caught off guard by her random answer. "Well, it is pretty hot" Charlie nodded softly. "I got some in the back of my car if you want it" He replied with a teasing grin.

"Don't you tease me, sir," she warned, shaking a finger at him. "It's not a kind thing to do. Especially in this predicament. Don't make me get my stick out after you mate," she remarked. She'd noted his funny expression about her answer to his quesition and she sighed, wondered the possibilities of it's origin. He was probably mulling over the possibilities over her past and most rather outrageous no doubt. She might as well set the record straight she figured, shifting a little in the shade.
"I'm not a murderer, I promise. Ex-cop and pro-wrestler, but no homicide on my record. Promise," she teased, a sort of backwards way of letting him know she'd talk if he realyl wished to know.

Charlie couldn't help but let out a short chuckle. It was only then when he could really feel the humidity of the place. The sun was still sizzling down upon them but luckily both were under a tree for shade. If the heat lasted any longer Charlie could've sworn he was going to melt anytime soon. One small trick he knew was to think of something cold. It would keep his mind off of the temperature. Skinner mentioned ice cream which was exactly what Charlie was beginning to think about.
Suddenly he jerked his head to the side, losing all thoughts of the weather now. "Oh ok" He said softly with a grin. "Just in case, I'll be on the look out whenever I go to the caves to get some water. Who knows, someone could run up on me and pull a knife" Charlie lingered on the thought with a teasing smirk.

Skinner pulled out her water, taking a sip of the cooling beverage, as tasteless as it was. And it wasn't like alcohol could be consumed by her if she had the gumption to bribe Sawyer anyways. Water, water water. She grinned and laughed, handing the bottle to him and raising a brow as an offering.
"You should watch your back. Though I promise I didn't poison that," she said with a crooked grin. "You should know that."
