Ava took the last drops from her small bottle, then shook it angrily. Empty. Khu lapped up the little water droplet that hung in the air, wagging his tail proudly. Small beads of perspiration rolled down her forehead. It was about noon, and the sun was right in the middle of the sky. Ava smiled, and took off the little backpack she had found. Khu looked inside when the zipper opened, and jumped up happily when Ava brought out a soccer ball. He barked, then licked at his cut. She massaged his nose for a bit, smiling. The girl then wanted to get back to the game. Ava dropped the ball, and kicked it around her feet. Khu bounded around like a kitten on catnip. After a few moments, Ava dropped down to the grassy ground, panting. Khu nudged the ball around his nose, and stepped on it, as if waiting for something cool to happen.
The dog's paw slipped to the side, and his ushed it right off the side. Ava groaned. She eyeballed the dog angrily. They could have totally had fun with it! She watched the black and blue shape bounce down the side, then come to a side at a ledge, about twenty feet down. Ava's heart jumped, and she began to climb down. Khu held her forearm in his jaw, holding hard, but not hard enough to where he would hurt her. She brushed him away, then slid down, feeling her lungs shake as she hit the ledge. Ava reached down, grabbed the ball, then stuffed it under her shirt so she wouldn't have to hold it. She grasped the grass that hung low and tight so she could climb back up, and it what seemed like forever, she reached the top. Ava rolled the ball away, and feebly pulled herelf up. Khu licked her face in gratitude.
Ava yanked her head back. Doggy breath! Luckily enough for Ava, she didn't look back once as she slid down, or climbed up. So, now dizziness for the aftershock! Khu opened his mouth as wide as it would go, and held the ball triumpthantly in his mouth. Ava took the ball, and as she was placing it in, she saw a little bottle of water shoved all the way in a ripped section, where it was perfectly hidden from view. She carefully kept watch of it, and decided to save it for later. Ava sighed, then fell backwards into the soft, inviting grass. Khu layed down beside her, and put his two front paws and his head on her stomach. She gazed intently downt he mountain, hoping to see another dog, a person who smelled good(Sorry, Charlie. Hehehe. ^^) and was nice to animals. ava stroked the dog's head lovingly, knowing that there wasn't a moment she wouldn't have lived without Khu.
