He smiled "Well we all have our dark sides...some more than others" he said thinking of his own life. "And hell I'm not even gunna say theres good in everyone because thats bullshit" he said. He looked at her "But I can tell your a good person. Regardless of maybe something you've done that you regret" he said. He stood up and went to refill his water bottle. He came back and sat in front of her now on the ground legs criss crossed. He smiled seeing her head on. She was really stunning and her skin and hair were flawless. He smiled his face erking up.
His hair was a curly mess and the earring on his right ear was a small hoop that surronded the bottom of his lobe. He looked at her with a smile once again. "You're really beautiful" he said. "I don't mean to be random or cheesy it's just...wow" he said.

Skinner smiled at his words, knwoing they possibly weren't true, but trusting them anyhow. Trust. What an issue for her, she bit her lip, thinking about then. But then her head snapped up at his words, so strange and unfamiliar to her. She tilted her head and a small smile, one that no one could see lest they be watchig for it, appeared.
"Say that again," she asked in a soft, non commanding voice.

He looked at her seeing her take in his words and not entirely believing them. He wondered what had happened to her that would make her not trust anyne. He knew that must have been terrible and he felt bad for her. He took her hand gently and squeezed it for reassurance.
"What...your beautiful?" he asked

Skinner smiled and nodded, blushing slightly as she looked down. "Yes that," she whispered softly, looking at their hands. It had been so long since she'd heard such things come from a male other than her brother, and that really didn't count. She chewed her lip, feeling her cheeks burn and attempting to hide the blush in her hair.
"I'm sorry. I just haven't...haven't heard that. Not in a long time," she said softly. In fact, she'd heard nothing but put downs and complaints for months.

He smiled and looked down. He looked at her with a smile "really? you're gorgeous. No one tells you that? No one?" he said surprised "Skinner, you've honestly not been told that?" he looked at her. He looked at her with a smile. He looked at her with a smile. "Well if that's not the truth I dunno what is" he said. "Clearly that jackass that you were with was stupid and blind" he said to her. "TO not notice that pretty face of yours." he said. "And that sweet persona..."

Skinner sighed, gently pulling her hand from his, and tucking it in her lap, looking at the cave floor. "I...I appreciate all you say. But honestly, how can I trust you?" she asked quietly, finally directing her attention back to his eyes, her own filled with a deepness and anxiety and almost fear to the green hue.
"The last man I trusted...." she trailed off, ripped her eyes from his, still unable to say it.

He saw her pull away "sweetheart...if you go through life thinking everyone's the same...you'll ...you'll miss out. There's a guy out there who is perfect for you and will treat you the way you deserve...and you're gunna push him away because you never gave him a chance." he said "All I want is to have a freind out here." He said to her. "I'm not lookin for anything from you but friendship" he said to her. "I promise"

Skinner sighed softly, looking at him. He didn't understand, and she wouldn't try to make him, but she wanted to. "Look. Chris, I..I want to trust. I just can't...." She felt herself tremble, biting her lip. "How can I know that you won't hurt me, friend or not? How can I know you won't do the same thing he did?"
Her eyes flickered, the deep green soft and nearly aching. Wanting to trust...but unable to.

He looked at her and looked down. "Wow, I guess our conversation meant nothing and I'll still a thingy head" he said. He stood up "ya know I guess you were right. You need sometime to clear your head and relax I guess" he said to her. He shrugged looking at her and smiled "It was nice meeting you, good luck avoiding anything with a thingy on this island" he said. He hated how he got all defenseive sometimes but he couldn't help it sometimes. It was in his nature to defend himself really.
He began to leave not remembering to bring his bag. He had his water in hand and began to head back towards the camps.

Skinner watched him leave, biting her lip. She hated that she'd offended him. But he didn't understand. There were parts of her that would never be the same and she knew that. She chewed her lip til it bled, trying to keep her angry and sad tears from spilling on her face. She sighed, sinking against the cave wall.
She was one messed up m****r f****r.

Chris headed back to the ebach and had forgotten he left his bag by Skinner. He felt he shouldn't leave her alone. But she didn't even want him there to help. He figured maybe he shuld get a girl to help her. But he didn't know any of the girls well enough to trust them with such a sensitive person. Chris wasn't the most sensitive guy, but he would never hurt someone ever. Not physically. Emotionally he shut people out but hadn't Skinner as well? He couldn't understand it.
