How long had it been? Three days, four? The time seemed to just go by so slow here out in this wilderness. This jungle just seemed to go on forever. Small paths had already been worn down, making it a little easier to walk around. People had already gotten used to the fact they were going be here for a while. Some teamed together, while most others decided to travel on the opposite side of the tracks. It was a wonder how most had survived the ordeal, but some had already started to point fingers. It sounded reasonable, maybe somone did crash it. Who could be so terible they had to ruin everyone's lives? Whatever, one thing was for sure, that person sure would be in a lot of trouble.
Ava could scacely remember what happened. Screaming, crying, all sorts of things no one wanted to hear. She would rather face a man-eating tiger than face another crash, but hey, that's life. You never got what you wanted. Ava recalled the brave people who laughed and romped around when they were done with their dressings and such. She yelped as a huge bug that looked like some roach cross her path. Ava shot up the nearest tree, eyeing the thing as big as a medium-sized dog slithered into the inky darkness. Ava heard the branch cacking, so hopped off moment before it broke apart. She bent over, making sure the beast was gone.
She reached for her dog, finding her palm swaying through empty air. Ava swiveled around, her eyes darted nervously around the thick brush. She held her breath, and let it out when the dark, tanned four-legged shape sprinted towads her. Ava let out a grunt as the canine tanked into her knees. The animal aplogized with a few quick licks, and a wagging tail. Ava furrowed her brow, partly expecting this act from the dog. She turned around and beganto walk the other direction, running right into the trunk of a tree. Ava rubbed her nose, then maneuvered around it, ushering Khu, her dog, around it.
Khu looked up at his friend, panting, making it seem he was laughing at her. She noticed this, pushed his head affectionately with her thigh. Khu let out a low growl, a playful growl. He bowed his head, a faked directions, hoping she would play along. Ava pursed her lips, and looked around. No one in sight. She ran around in circles, chasing the puppy. Khu rolled over in some leaves, which accented his fur. Ava crossed her legs indian style, and panted. The canine wiggled around, then shoved his weight into her lap. Reluctantly, she petted the dog., not noticing how his body went tense and how he stared in one direction.
