Skinner opened her mouth to answer Chris at first but she heard the roar. She felt chris tug her and her other hand rested protectively around her stomach and she felt herself grow so very protective at that point in time. She looked at Chris where his hand was stuck in the netting and she grasped at it, pullign a pocketknife out of the pockt in her pack and cutting at the net quickly, freeing his arm.
She looked at him in a frenzied expression, fear crossing her face as she tugged them both out of the wrath of the monster. She drifted her hands to her stomach once it had gone and she sat down, her heart pounding and the rain beginning to fall harder. "chris," she called looking up. "Are you okay?" She held her tears back, but they wouldn't hold for long.

He felt her free his arm and the netting fall. She came over slowly and tried to hold back tears. "Skinn...I...I'm so sorry" he said. He couldnt believe he'd been so careless "How could I have been so stupid...are you okay?" he asked looking at her stomach "I'm so sorry..." he said his body and clothes soaked through almost.

Skinner shook her head, her hair and body soaked. "It's not your fault..." she choked out, trying to keep from crying but it was no use. Her terribly unpredictable hormones caused her tears and sobs to overflow and she crunched herself closer in the rain, her hands protectively over her stomach.
She looked up at Chris, her face red and her eyes squinted up in tears, not that you could tell with the rain. "Not...not your...fault..." she gasped through ragged breaths.

He couldnt believe he'd done that too her. He stood up and bent over to carry her. She was geting a little heavy from the bump but nothing he couldnt handle. He looked at her hoping he didn't hurt her. He began to walk back towards the Garden and beach. He looked at her in the eye "It was my fault and I am so sorry" he said to her.

Skinner felt him pick her up and carry her and she shook her head, but was shaking from her uncontrollable sobs. She wrpapped an arm around her neck to make it easier on him and cried into his already wet shoulder. She couldn't explain where all the tears came from, just one simple emotion set it off.
She felt her sobs slow and she looked at him, biting her lip and shaking her head. "No. It's not your fault. I...won't let it be your fault." She drifted her hand to her bludge, feeling fresh tears threaten her eyes.

He felt horrible for making her cry. He looked at her and kissed her hair trying to comfort her. He looked at her upset that he'd done this. They reached the garden and the rain was slowling. Before he set her down he whispered to her. "You wanna go back to the beach or do you rwanna rest here for a while?" he asked

Skinner's trembled had paused a bit, slowing to just shudders with the chill of the rain. But the humidity had begun to rise again as the rain stopped and she jsut curling into Chris. "It's fine. I'm okay," she said softly, her voice stronger but a mere whisper. She drifted her hands to her stomach again, almost a protective maneuver and looked at Chris, worry and sorrow in her eyes.
"Whatever happens it isn't your fault," she said softly, trmebling in her lips as she spoke.

He set her down gently in a soft patch of the jungle floor to rest on. He looked at her, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry babe..." he said. "That was stupid of me" he said. He took her hand and held it softly "i'm real sorry" he said.

Skinner leaned back against a nearby tree, at a loss for what to say. What had happened was a blur, but she couldnt' blame Chris. She'd been in his spot many times before and knew what it felt like. It was a strange thing, to watch someone go through the same thing you did. It was a point where she asked herself ' Did I really act like that?' And she did, she knew she did.
She rubbed his hand with her thumb, curling in slightly. "It's alright. I'm not..not even sure what happened back there," she said truthfully.

He looked at her "I---I guess I saw someone... a mirage...but it was him I thouhgt...a ghost?" he asked embaressed. "I'm just crazy now" he sghed..."And then we hit some sort of trip wire...and a net trapepd us" he said. He wondered who the hell had done this, set the trap up...other people definately lived her e and that scared him a little.

Skinner listened to his recollection of the past minutes and shuddered, wondering who had done such a thing. Then she began to shudder and felt her face burn with tears again uncontrollably. She began crying for no particylar reason other than the fact there was a net in the jungle. She leaned onto Chris, just for the feeling of someone to be there.
"I....don't know...what's wrong...with me..." she gasped through ragged shaky breaths. She felt the hot tears in comparison to the rain still on her face but couldn't stop them, not for the life of her.

He put his arm around her gently and let her rest on him. He looked at her "hey sweety it's okay, it's just your emotions...crazy pregnant hormonal emotions" he said with a laugh. "You're okay...I'm soryr I triggered them though" he said "THat's my fault" he said to her. He looked at her with a smile.
He kissed her cheek and stroked it witht he back of his hand gently. She was radiant, even with tears in her eyes. He looked at her feeling terrible.

Skinner's sobs finally began to slow and she gained her breath in raspy puffs of air, but she didn't sounds quite like a dying cat as she did so now. She reached up and grasped Chris's hand, holding it in her own. She didn't want him to feel guilty not at all, but she knew that he would either way. She trembled again and pushed off of chris, sitting up now.
"I'm...I'm alright," she said in a slightly hoarse tone. "I need to go to my tent. Changes clothes." She looked at him, wiping her face from the rest of the rain and tears.

He looked at her seeing her calm down a bit. He looked at her and smiled. He stood up and held his hand out "want me to carry you?" he asked. He looked at her wanting to make her comfortable. He woudl at least hold her clsoe so she felt secure.

Skinner laughed softly and slowly, shaking her head. "Carry me? No. I can manage," she said with a soft smile. She did lean toward him though, however unconscious the act may have been. Skinner was courageous, but fearless? No. Whatever that thing in the forest was that had...attacked them, wasn't just there for kicks.
Skinner walked in the direction of the beach and then her tent, wrapping her arms around herself tightly.
