Alex drew back the curtains, allowing sunlight to enter her bedroom before tying back her thick brown hair in a low pony tail. She glanced out the window which looked over part of the community. It was fairly late in the morning-she had overslept. She didn't have anything planned in particular that day; she had a feeling that Karl had to work elsewhere again. She hasn't had a chance to talk to him for a few days now, so she wasn't sure what he was up to. Seeing nothing of interest to her out the window, she grabbed her shoulder bag and headed out the door. The house, as expected, was empty. Alex headed straight for the kitchen, only taking some time to make herself a piece of toast and grab an apple. After her toast was finished, she took the small breakfast outside. The warm sunlight and nice weather was much more appealing than sitting in the empty house.
A few minutes later, Alex had settled herself down on the lawns, not too far from her own house. She put her bag down and bit into her dry piece of toast, squinting slightly against the sun's glare as she watched someone walk into the recreation room. The community seemed a bit emptier than usual-Alex would've assumed with the lack of events happening lately then some of the residents would have less to do than usual. Still, she didn't know everything; she could only make assumptions. Maybe they were up to something that she didn't know about. As much as she tried to keep up with the recent ongoings of the island, it was impossible for her to know what was going on all the time.

Ariana stepped out of the shower and started to get dressed. She was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt. She sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror as she ran a comb through her wet redhead and started to blow dry her hair. About fifteen minutes later Ariana’s red hair was now completely dry and wasn’t wet anymore. She placed the comb down and brushed her teeth. As soon as she finished brushing her teeth she headed out of her bathroom and into the kitchen. It was fairly late in the morning and she wanted something to eat. She started to ravage through her food supply, nothing seemed to interest her, so she grabbed some Cereal and pour herself a bowl of cereal. She placed the box of cereal back in the cabinet and went to her fridge digging out the milk. She poured the milk in the cereal and placed the milk back in the fridge. She grabbed a spoon out of her silverware drawer and glanced outside.
It looked beautiful, so she decided she would have breakfast outside. Ariana grabbed her bowl of cereal and headed out of her house. She stood on her porch glancing out into the little quiet community. There seemed to be no one prowling in the community. She saw a person that she never met on the lawns, she had seen the person around before, but never seemed to want to talk with her, so maybe it was a good time to talk. Ariana made her way towards where that individual was as Ariana approached the girl, she stopped a few feet away and decided to interact with her, “Hey, do you mind if I sit next to you?” Ariana asked holding her cereal bowl.

Alex glanced up when she heard a voice as she took another bite of her toast. Her gaze landed upon a young woman who seemed slightly familiar. She must have been that woman that had recently been recruited. She couldn't remember her name-Alex never looked at the files of newcomers on the island. What she knew of the others on the island was what she learned from being around them or hearing her dad talk about them. Unfortunately, that wasn't much, as Alex doesn't regularly hang out around them when her dad and everyone else is working. It looked like she has the same idea of eating breakfast outside as Alex did.
"No, go ahead," Alex replied quickly, glancing up to Ariana curiously. She wondered what this woman had come to the island for. "I'm Alex," Alex added, assuming she didn't know who she was. She wasn't sure if this woman knew who Alex was or not, but she assumed she didn't. Alex finished off her piece of toast and then dug around in her shoulder bag, taking out a water bottle. She wasn't sure what to say to the young woman who had come to sit with her, so she remained silent as she took drink of her water before taking a bite of her apple. She hadn't realized until now on how hungry she was.

Ariana nodded as she sat down sort of next to Alex. She sat cross legged and took a bite of her cereal as she watched Alex carefully. Ariana wasn’t one to observe much, but it was kind of odd for an adult and a teenager to be talking. Ariana noticed one thing about this little community and the adults tended to stay away from the adults. She understood why, though the teenagers wanted their peace and she respected that.
Ariana took another bit of her cereal as she listened to Alex speak. Ariana nodded, placing her spoon in her cereal bowl, and quickly replied, “Nice to meet you, Alex I’m Ariana” Ariana paused for a minute, “I’m the newbie” she added as she took a final bit out of her cereal, placing the bowl on the soft grass that she sat on.
ooc: sorry its short.

Alex watched Ariana as she took a bite out of her apple, finding that it wasn't as crunchy as she had hoped. Once she finished chewing, she glanced back to the young woman, not feeling awkward at all. There were few other teenagers on the island so she was used to hanging out around adults most of the time, whether she liked it or not.
"Where are you from?" Alex asked curiously before taking another bite of her apple. She could hear some voices in the distance but they were to far away for her to tell who it was, or what they were talking about. Although Arian may not have much to say to Alex, despite wanting to sit with her, Alex would always have a lot of questions for her. She did want to go and find Karl, unsure if her father had sent him off somewhere again to prevent them from being together. But for now she was content with sitting here and talking to Ariana, if Ariana wanted to talk. Alex wasn't sure what else she could do that day anyway-after the crash, she was finding it harder to leave the community. ooc: Bleh, same.

Ariana pulled her red hair into a bun as she watched Alex take a bit out of the apple. She looked around and noticed that they were still the only ones out. Of course, Ariana didn’t mind this she was just the newbie on the island and could care less what the rest of the little community was doing. She knew that something was going on and she didn’t care what it was. She knew that she would be informed about it later. She bit her lower lip as she glanced back at Alex who spoke to her.
“Portland” Ariana answered with hesitating. Portland was where she had lived before being recruited to this island. She really didn’t even miss home. She really didn’t even tell her family expect for her brother Jacob that she was taking a job out of the country. Actually, she forgot what she had said to her brother about the job. Of course, it was just a simple voice mail. She looked at Alex as she ate an apple. “You know, it would be nice if we had some real food, I mean I swear I ate this kind of crap when I was here with my twin and father almost sixteen years ago.” She paused “What I would do for an Apollo Bar right now…”

Alex looked up, looking slightly confused at Ariana's words. Sixteen years ago? That meant Ariana had been on the island the year Alex had been born. She disregarded what Ariana said about the food; she had grown up eating it and thought it was fine. She had grown up eating healtier foods than the average teenager might back on the mainlands. She took another bite of the apple before she replied, a few questions whirling around in her mind.
"I thought you said you just got here? What were you here for before?" Alex asked, sounding slightly suspicous although confused. She didn't remember Ariana from any childhood memories, but perhaps Ariana had left around the time she was born? It didn't explain how Ariana was able to come and leave this island. She reached up and brushed strands of her dark hair out of her face that had fallen loose of her pony tail, glancing at Ariana as she finished off her apple and set the core on the ground. She leaned back, settling herself into a more comftorable position as she turned her attention back to Ariana.

Ariana glanced at Alex and noticed that she was slightly confused. She slapped her head when she realized that she had made a mistake. She accidently said sixteen years ago. That would have placed her on the island when she was eleven. She shook her head and decided to correct her mistake.
“Sorry, I meant to say was I was her twenty-one years ago, I was thinking of something else sixteen years ago” Ariana stated clearly. “I was on this island twenty-one years ago, my father was recruited here and about four weeks into our stay he was killed.” Ariana paused “Two days after he was killed My brother and I were shipped back to the states” Ariana paused as she hope that she would her correcting this little mistake would make Alex unconfused.

Ben heard voices as he spoke with Richard about the day's plans. Preparations needed to be made, but the voices were becoming incessant. He excused himself for a moment and wandered over the slight rise to find Alex and Ariana. He wondered what they were talking about. Ben of course knew Ariana's story back and forth, and wasn't sure if he wanted it being shared with his daughter. The time before Alex had been born had been somewhat dark on this island, and it would do her no good to dwell on the past. It would do none of them good.
Ben approached the two women with a smile on her face. "Good morning, ladies. How are we this beautiful morning?" He looked at Alex to read her face for clues about what they had been speaking, and then opened his mouth once more. "Alex I was wondering if you could run home and get me the small telescope in my desk drawer. Richard and I need to go take a look at something later today. You're welcome to come along if you like."
What Ben really wanted was a moment to speak with Ariana, and warn her about the repercussions of scaring his daughter into believing things that weren't true. However, he hoped she would jump at the chance to do something besides sit around all day.

Ariana quickly got up as Ben started to talk. She knew she shouldn't of went on about her previously being on the island. She should had just shut-up. She just wanted to get away for a moment. She picked up her cereal bowl and spoon and smiled at Ben. "Good Morning, Ben" She spoke as she gazed around and looked down at her watch. "I'm sorry, but I think Harper is going to kill me, I'm already fifteen minutes late for my appointment!"
((My muse for Ariana is very lame today)).

Alex glanced to Ariana when she spoke of her father's death, but was uncertain on what to say. She hardly had a chance to Ariana had said before a familiar figure arrived, although it was not someone she wanted to see. She had been hoping to avoid her father that morning so she could find Karl, but if he knew of her intentions in which he most likely did, he would probably try to prevent that from happening. When she heard his request, she sighed before throwing him a slightly annoyed glance. She knew Ben well enough to be able to tell when he was purposely trying to get her away from someone or a certain conversation he doesn't want her hearing. Still, she was curious in what Ben and Richard had to look at later on. Of course it could be nothing and Ben was only using this as an excuse for her to leave, but her previous conversation with Ariana had been awkward enough so she didn't mind leaving.
"Fine," Alex muttered as she stood up, grabbing her bag and her apple core before striding off towards the house without a backwards glance. Stepping up onto the porch, she stepped forwards and opened the door, disappearing inside. She knew she wouldn’t be able to return to Ben and Ariana and hear what Ben had wanted to talk to her about; however, she also didn’t want to return to the awkward conversation she had with Ariana before her father arrived.
It only took Alex a couple of minutes to locate the small telescope he had been referring to. Closing the desk drawer, Alex exited the room and headed for the front door of the house again. As she reached the front door she paused, pushing back the curtain to the window near the door as she peered outside, spotting Ben and Ariana still sitting outside. She had only been gone a couple of minutes and waited to see what was happening. She wouldn't be able to gain any insight of their conversation from where she was, but decided just to wait another minute or two. She tossed her apple core in the garbage, which she had forgotten she was still holding, before getting another glass of water. Deciding that she had waited enough, Alex exited the house and headed back towards Ben and Ariana with the small telescope in hand.
