June 1st: Lucille Jones Graudation, Los Angeles California.
"Lissy!" Skinner shouted, running across the grassy lawn that the families milled about on, greeting and crying and sniffling like it was generic to do at graduations. Skinner enclosed Lissy in a tight hug, her red silk gown and cap rather familiar to Skinner, but far away in her thoughts. "I'm so proud of you," she said, hugging her tighter before pulling away.
"I know I know. And you love me. And you cried," Lissy said, laughing jubilantly. Lissy was never one that would get emotionally bogged down. Always smiling, always laughing. Always Lissy. "Let's go, we're going to party at Chili's tonight, my lovely old hag of a sister!" She laughed, linking arms with Skinner as Lissy puled her in the direction of the Mercedes SUV their parents had gotten her for graduating. Lissy was going to Law school in Harvard, hundreds of miles away. Her parents weren't happen about it, but they were more than happy she'd gotten accepted.
"Let's go party then," Skinner said laughing as she got into the Benz driver seat. "And I'm driving tonight. You might be able to float your way on that fake id, but I'm not letting you drive this car. Plus I wanna drive it." Skinner grinned, driving them to the Chili's in the heart of downtown, parking the Benz and getting out. Liss had changed in the back into her party-going outfit and Skinner shed her outer shell covering her fancy tank, but that reveal a bruis on her shoulder, the perfect outline of a handprint.
"What's that?" Liss asked, grasping Skinner's arm. She was looking at the purpling bruise and stared at it, then Skinner, her blue eyes refelcting worry.
"It's nothing," Skinner said, shrugging off Liss's arm. "You lie," Liss retorted, catching up to Skinner. "It's him isn't it?"
Skinner said nothing. [/i]
