The Basics
Name: Matt Nixon
Age: 29
Place of Residence: New Orleans
Section on the Plane, or not on the plane [Other]:Tail section
Appearance
Eyes: Blue/ Grey eyes
Hair: A fair brown color
Body Type: Quite tall and sinewy, not much muscle mass on him.
Overall: Matt is about 6ft and 89kg. There isn't much muscle mass at all on Matt, he's mostly bones with a small covering of fat and muscle so he doesn't resemble a skeleton too much. His hair is cropped short to his scalp, and he tries to keep clean shaven so he maintains that squeaky clean, boyish charm look to him.
Matt is always seen in a shirt, any type of solid color shirt, without a tie and either a neat pair of jeans or a smart pair of trousers. And is always in shoes, he owns many pairs from black to beige, worn depending on the rest of his attire.
As a young boy Matt was slightly larger than he is now, but as he grew he got a lot slimmer and his face hollowed out a lot more.
Personality
Likes: Being a materialistic type of person anything of value, and not sentimental. Something he could flog on for more gains to him. Ladies to a certain point, mainly for his own perverse amusement.
Dislikes: Ladies fall into this category to, once he's met a girl, knows what she's like, he goes back to his innate prejudice against them. Another hate is losing anything of worth and value.
Strengths: A very intelligent, bright young man who could so well with his life he was to apply himself and become more likable.
Weaknesses: Matt will never become a well liked person, he has uses and that would be the only reason people would want to talk to him, for his uses over friendship. His arrogance and conceit can often leave him isolated and without company, which Matt may or may not find comfortable.
Overall Personality: Matt is a typical ladies man. Charms them but never treats them with any respect once he knows them, and generally thinks of the female species in a low regard, he aims to find out what the woman is, over who she is. When meeting a new girl it's a novelty for Matt, he tests the water, tries to gage her personality, then when getting bored with her, drops her like a stone.
Despite this, Matt is a very intelligent person, but due to the fact he is so arrogant, that intelligence is never noticed by the people around him who just believe he is an ass based on his misogynistic views and opinions.
It's hard to tell if Matt has a soft side, it's never on show and it would appear someone like Matt would cauterize a soft endearing side right out of him. In place of that humane side, just being ruthless and cut throat to get what he would out of life for the smallest amount of effort.
Background[/u]
Family Members: Matt was bought up in foster care, his mother and father are still out there, but put him up for adoption at birth. He has never been told why, but he's known all his life he was in care. As such he never grew attached to his foster parents, Mike and Jenny Hallows. He never saw any reason to, they were nothing to him.
Reason for Being in Sydney: Trying to track down and find his real parents.
Reason for Flying to LA: He was heading home.
Character History: From a very young age is was divulged to Matt that he was an adopted child, that his parents simple gave him up. He knew nothing of his biological parents, not their age, names, place of residence or birth. And whilst growing up through school he was dubbed 'orphan kid' even though he wasn't an orphan and had parents.
Entering his teenage years, he had furious arguments with his foster family, showing no appreciation for them. Many of the fights were with his foster mother Jenny, to whom he showed a total lack of regard, displaying a deep rooted prejudice to woman that no one can describe, and the nearest they could guess was that he has deep resentment to his mother for giving him up.
After graduating university with the highest honors, he was congratulated by none of his friends and furthermore his foster family did not show up. This only made his hatred for them build, but he wasn't upset by them not turning up. He entered a large business, taken on as an apprentice, and hoping to make it to the top. He was giving a letter from a woman claiming to be his real mother, one day in the office, telling him why he was put up for adoption as a baby. It had no return address, but Matt did find a postage stamp reading Sydney, Australia. Which in turn lead him out to the country to track down this woman and the validity of the letter. The search came to nothing and an angry Matt returned home to get back to his business.
The Rest[/u]
Role play Sample as your character:Once again Matt looked at the man next to him, tray from the seat back in front of him pulled down and the newspaper resting on that. If it wasn't for the man's constant sighing in frustration and confusion, he'd have ignored him altogether, however, that was now impossible.
For the last two and a half hours this idiot had been looking at the chess puzzle in the paper. White was to checkmate black in three moves. It was so simple and yet this dunce couldn't see it! It was maddeningly annoying for Matt to watch, it was almost as if the man was torturing him.
Looking up, he saw a scruffy young man run to the rest room at the front of the plane, skip the queue to go straight into the toilet. Looking one last time at the man next to him, he got up and moved to the rest room at the back of the plane. By staying there, he risked the chance that the man might finally solve that puzzle while he was still in the seat. That being the case he'd do his little victory dance and Matt would be forced into the amazing story of how the puzzle was solved and then Matt would have to congratulate him out of politeness, when in truth all Matt would want to say was that it was about time he solved the puzzle and that two hours ago he saw the solution himself, and in all honesty what was so bloody hard about that conundrum!
Nearing the back of the plane, Matt heard the man give his victory cheer, and with a smirk on his face he waited outside the rest room. Catastrophe averted!
Questions?: I was going to use this sample as a flashback, can I still use it, or should I just leave it now?
