Skinner walked back to the beach finally, after realizing the sun was abotu to set. She had Chris's pack grasped tight in her small hand, shuddering slightly from the partially chilly night air. Her jacket she'd left in the cave. Dammit.
Skinner's eyes grazed the beach for Chris but she saw no sign of him. She'd felt terrible after he left, feeling like she'd made him mad or let him down or something. But her just....he had to understand that trust was not easy for her. He had to reazlie that before she could trust him, that was for sure.
Skinner's hand was still wrapped around the sling of the pack and she wrapped her arms tight around her knees, crushing herself closer to gain warmth in the chilly air.

Chris had returned to the beach to start building his own shelter. He managed to get soemthign small up. He now sat outside of it near a fire. He looked around seeing that people were beginnign to go to bed. He took a stick and began to poke it at the fire. He looked up and saw Skinner sitting shivering. He sighed. He had a blanket that he'd found from the stuff left from the plane. He went to his tent to grab it.
He came over and wrapped it around her. "Sitting by a fire might help too" he said giving a weak smile. He suddenly spotted his bag but saw she was using it to keep her warm so he didnt ask for it. He looked at her "I'm sorry about earlier. I don't know you all that well and I understand the trust barrier and I don't know what happened to you to have that happen so I apologize" he said to her. "But I'm just asking for a chance" he said

Skinner was sort of startled by Chris's appearance, or maybe more so by his gesture with the blanket. She pulled it a little closer with her free hand, then looked up at him, a small smile appearing. "It's...it's alright. And I'm sorry I'm the way I am. It's just going to take me a while to get back to trusting people." She looked down, then back up. "Perhaps I could start with you."
Skinner stood, then handed the bag back to him, holding the blanket with her other hand. "Here. You forgot this in the cave," she said softly.

He looked at her and gave a her a smile. "Don't ever apologize for who you are...just friggin own it, all the crappy stuff will go away for you" he said with a smile. He took his bag back and looked at her handing it back. "Did you look inside?" he asked. He figured it'd be a step towards trust. He looked at her with a smile. "Common I know you're probably curious, plus you can check to make sure I'm not a psycho." he said.

Skinner laughed at his words, shaking her head. She pulled the blanket close with both hands now, looking at him and shaking her head. "I didn't. Normally I don't do things like that." She shrugged and watched him, chewing her lip lightly. "Though I am slightly curious," she admitted. And she was, but that was just her nature. To be curious.
Skinner grasped the pack, then unzipped it, peering inside, not really knowing what to expect. Normal things she guessed, but she shrugged and handed the pack back, looking at him, her soft eyes slightly hooded. "It's alright. I...I trust you. A bit at least."

Inside the bag were basic things, a shirt, wallet, I.D. ticket, passport, pictures, etc. He let her look before taking it back. He looked at her with a smile. "Take care" he said beginning to head back to his tent to put his stuff down. He sat by the fire and continued to look over makign sure she was okay. He looked at her with a smile. He continued to sit alone by the fire as it grew dark on the isalnd.

Skinner smiled abit, but then looked over watching him walk back to his small camp area. She peered at the push and pull of the water, pulling the balnket tighter to her. She finally walked over to his camp, watching him but chewing her lip and darting her eyes a bit. "Do you mind if I sit here with you. Just for a little while?" she asked, meeting his eyes again.
She didn't know how he would react, seeing as she did treat him pretty much like sh*t earlier. She peered at him, chewing her lip but not moving from her spot, neither forward nor backward.

Chris smiled. "Yea sure sit down" he said to her. He watched her chew her lip with a smile. He looked at her. "You shouldn't do that, you'll ruin your beautiful lips" he said to her. He looked at her with a smile. "So where were you sitting on the plane?" he asked keeping the conversation simple. He loved small talk and chatting and didn't say he struggled with it. He looked at her with a smile.

Skinner moved to sit close to the fire, chuckled softly at his comment about her lips. She didn't cringe from the words though, perhaps her mind growing used to the word 'beautiful' used in conjunction with her and her name. An odd sensaiton to say the least. "On the plane?" She laughed. "First class. Cost a little much but it was the only ticket left on that plan and I was taking it or bust. I was getting out of Sydney fast as I could."
She smiled a bit, laughing mentally at the thought. The ticket had costed much more than intended, but she didn't really care that day. She just needed out.

He nodded "I know that feeling" he said "I got on the quickest flight outta sydney too" he said. "Ya know I think you were a couple spots behind me because I got the last coach seat" he said to her. He looked at her with a smile. "Sorry I guess I owe you money then" he said laughing. "Or whatever else I can repay you with for taking your ticket" he said to her with a smile.

Skinner leaned against a nearby rock and raised a brow, shaking her head. "Took my ticket? I can't believe you. Well seeing as money's well, pointless here, perhaps a couple mangoes or something would work." She laughed and shook her head, shrugging.
"Or maybe just some conversation," she added. Tehy were a lot more alike than she'd originally thought, or so it seemed now. They both had been abused and both fleeing from Sydney to get away from that. And it looked like they both had dark secrets that nobody really knew.

He laughed "mangoes and conversation it is" he said with a laugh. He looked at her with a smile. "What were you studying, didn't you say you went aborad to Sydney?" he asked. He looked at her curious "what are you majoring in?" he asked her. He continued to poke at the fire bored. He watched the embers glow in the night sky or crackle and land int he sand.

Skinner chuckled softly at him, but turned her eyes to the fire, wrapping the blanket around her tighter slightly. She watched the embers float into the sky and then directed her green eyes to Chris. "I was styudying medicine. Pediatrics. That's my major," she answered softly. She leaned against the log ner her, making herself rather comfortable on the sand.
"Ironically enough, I can doctor kids, but I never thought I'd be a good mom," she said with a slight laugh. She was getting to the point where she had to laugh about it, otherwise she'd cry. Simple as that.

He looked at her with a smile. He moved a little closer to her but only slowly. "Wow a kid doctor...I could actualyl see you doin that" he said to her. "What makes you think you wont be great with kids?" he said to her "You obviously have to work well with them if that was your major" he said. He saw the doubt in her eyes and stopped.
"Can I be honest with ya?" he asked hoping by continuing she wouldnt get offended "I think your scared because its normal. Every single woman who is pregnant is bound ot be scared...hell every pregnant woman is." he said "but with time, you'll see your perfect for it...your kind, open minded, smart, and caring for others it seems" he said.
