Ben was slowly losing faith. Things had been going so well. Now it was like quicksand. Things just seemed to slowly be getting worse and worse. Every decision he made, previously turning out perfectly, was going as wrong as possible, and he was here to witness it all. These survivors were smarter than he had given them credit for. He still hadn't discovered how they got here. Obviously a crash, but who had caused it? Not that idiot in the hatch. Widmore? Possible, probable really... but what to do about it? Wait it out?
Ben sighed and wondered where Alex had gone, where any of his people were. He looked out his window and felt utterly, helplessly, alone.

Harper walked through the quad of Otherville. She had a gun in her hand and was placing bullets in it. She was going hunting for boar. Yes, a woman going hunting. Most people in the Barracks, if they were looking out their windows probably were thinking that she was going to put a bullet through Burke's head. She wanted to, but figured someone besides herself would be willing in do it. Possibly one of those damn survivors that feel out of the sky.
Harper sighed as she loaded the gun, pulling the safty back and placing it behind her back in her pants. She then pulled up her hair into a ponytail and than headed towards the Sonic Fence, hoping no one would follow. She hated people following her.

What Ben Linus saw when he looked out his window was disturbing indeed. Harper. With a gun. Ben gritted his teeth as he watched her walk off towards the fence. She was always so arrogant, so nasty, driven by jealousy and anger. He never understood what Jacob had seen in her. At the same time, she was still one of his people, and knew she too had gotten some sick, grim satisfaction at Goodwin's look when he had sent the man away.
He had an idea of what she was doing, but decided he should probably follow her anyways, just to make sure she didn't do something stupid. He grabbed his walking stick and a wide brimmed hat before setting off, seeing her just as she kneeled to turn off the fence.

Ben tried to put on a smile for the somewhat unpleasant woman. He could tell she was unhappy that he had tailed her, but what of it. He was their leader, and he would do what he liked. Especially if it meant uncovering some secret one of his people might be trying to hide.
"Hello Harper. I'm just wondering where you're going. You didn't check out with anyone. It's dangerous out there you know. Especially now, what with all those crash victims. They could be scared. Hell, they are scared. There's no knowing what they might do if they were to catch one of us. So I'm just wondering what it is you're doing."

Harper bit her lower lip and folded her arms as she listened to Ben. Ben never cared, for her little walks into the jungle. If he had even bothered to notice, she had made trips into the jungle all the time since the plane fell out of the sky. The women sighed, and decided it was time to reply.
"Well, first of all Ben I did tell someone, I told Tom" she begun "And I'm not going that far, so you won't need to worry, I'm going hunting for boar, because I need something that isn't Dharma issued, I will share with the community, I promise" She said as she awaited his reply.
