So I found this empty notebook in some luggage. Thought it would be good to clear my mind, keep some notes on what's happened. My name is Jack Shephard, I was on Oceanic Flight 815 that crashed somewhere in the Pacific and came to this island. It's been a little over 24 hours, still no rescue. I've been tending to the injured as best I can, but without rescue soon, well we can only hope for the best, I suppose.
I had a back injury, which Kate Austen helped me with. She had never sewed before. Good for a first timer. Nice butt too, I won't lie. I think she's hiding something, the reason why she was in Australia. Dont want to push tho, she may not want to tell, and there's no one I'd rather be spending time with than her for now.
Also met Skinner Jones, getting mangos. John Locke, Sawyer, and Hurley Reyes. John's a weird guy. Sawyer's a redneck. Hurley's a friendly big dude who helped distribute food. Which we're already running low on. Hope rescue comes soon...

We're going to set off to look for the transceiver presently. Kate and Goodwin are coming with, anyone else who feels like it... We're going to ask for volunteers.
Kate fell asleep in my lap last night. It was unexpected, not unwelcome. She woke up and took off. I was worried she was mad or something, but she seemed fine this morning. Not sure what's going on. Maybe I can talk to her about it while we walk.
I was worried about leaving my patient behind while we do this, but he doesn't have a chance without rescue anyhow. So here we go. I'll write again when we make contact, Goodwin is calling me over to pack bags for the trip.
