Entry 1
As per the requirements of my contract, I begin my observations today. They know not that I'm here, none of them do. The castaways are blissfully ignorant of everything on the island, as well as myself. As for the remnants of the Dharma Initiative, the Hostiles you might call them... well, they know far less than they choose to believe.
The castaways make progress. I must give them credit, for they're doing far better than I would have believed, given the situation. I do believe they might actually survive, for a while longer at least. All of the essential pieces are falling into place it seems. They have discovered a source of fresh water, which will be more efficient than distilling ocean water. It comes in the form of a stream culminating in a waterfall set in a group of caves a mile or two into the jungle. This will aid them greatly.
Of course, they need the encouragement. It was be depressing, to be stuck on such a place and discover that technology does not work here. They attempts to contact the outside world are futile, and they are puzzled as to the reasons behind this. And, they have discovered the presence of something much larger and grander than themselves... though that too remains a mystery to them.
On the other side of the island, their comrades from the tail section are not fairing quite as well. A few of their number have been kidnapped by the hostiles, and are being taken away with them to places unknown. Well, not quite unknown; the Hostiles know where they are going, and so do I, of course. When they saw the plane crash, they immediately began to form their own plans for the survivors.
That is all I have to report for now. I keep a watchful eye on the events of the island.
Namaste.
